I agree, the whole food stamp program is getting out of hand. The food stamp card sounds just like a debit card - which seems way too convenient. Maybe Rush is right. There isn't as much pain, therefore there isn't the urgency to change political leadership. Hope people don't settle for the status quo!
Also, how did it ever come to be, that the government set up a school lunch program? Isn't that the parent's responsibility? For heaven's sake, I've never understood how the USDA got involved in the most primary parental responsibility - feeding children. That was the first big mistake. This is going to be a tough habit to break. Sooner or later, the government spigot will run dry, and you can bet the Dems will blame the heartless Republicans. I guess that was the plan all along.
