• USING HER CANCER FOR THE CAMPAIGN?

JOHN EDWARDS IS NOT ABOVE USING HIS WIFE'S CANCER TO GIVE HIS CAMPAIGN A NEEDED BOOST

This is just quite simply disgusting
Jimmy Z, Lost Angeles

I must admit, I felt like this was going to go this way. I kept my mouth shut, because one would like to give the husband and wife, John and Elizabeth, the benefit of the doubt, right? But the fact is - and it is a fact - Edwards is using her cancer to benefit his campaign for President.

On the John Edwards website there are all kinds of links that one can click on to donate money. After all, without money, there is no campaign. Millions upon millions of dollars are needed just to stay afloat during the primaries. The general election? Don't even think about it.

So on John's website, you have more than ample opportunity to click on donation links and send them some money for the Presidential bid. But then down on the right side is a nice little click to 'send a note to Elizabeth and John.' When you click on that, you get a lovely letter of concern and thanks from John Edwards, which reads in part:

"Elizabeth and I have been married for nearly 30 years and we will be in this every step of the way together. We will keep a positive attitude and always look for the silver lining—that's what we do."

Then below that, you get an opportunity to 'send a message to Elizabeth and John,' with a form to fill out.

And isn't that nice? Makes even a 'cold-hearted' Republican like me want to send them a note of encouragement. But watch out.

The fact is that when you fill out the form and send that note, your email is added to their campaign donor email list and you are bombarded with emails requesting money for ___? No, it's not for cancer research, my friend. It's for John's campaign.

Mind you, this is the same guy who was not above 'channeling' the voices of little kids from beyond the grave in court to sue medical insurance companies. Edwards is a whack job, kids. He's a nutball. He'll do ANYTHING.

So he's blatantly using his wife's cancer to drum up more donations for his soon-to-fail campaign. Which is disgusting. And hypocritical. And disturbing.

And I could have told you so.
