Well, the Detroit situation has been a long, slow motion implosion. Liberals thought they could replace family responsibility with government handouts. Unions destroyed industry, education - you name it. Democratic Party control has blown out budgets, and unlike the Federal Government, Detroit cannot print money. Now they can't even keep The Thin Blue Line intact. Weakness is provocative. - Donald Rumsfeld. Now the thugs are just playing a game of attrition with this poor gas station owner. They are expanding "their" territory. Weakness is provocative. Financial weakness is quickly leading to no-go zones. Police won't work for free, and the productive tax base is leaving. The city has all these government mandated welfare schemes - and the Detroit budget cannot pay to keep civil society "civil". It is all so sad...it makes you want to look away. Liberalism in action.
Part of that Detroit story mentioned bringing in Pastor Marvin Winan's help in reaching these young thugs. What they don't mention, is that it wasn't too long ago when Pastor Winan himself, was carjacked and assaulted while filling up at a gas station. These kids just don't care.
